Wednesday Weekly Wisdoms 050 – Gold

22.01.2020. The number 50 has been associated with gold regarding anniversaries and birthdays etc. Today in my 50th WWW I’m looking into gold/golden and the number 50 plus other associations.

Here in Spain we celebrate the Three Kings on 6th of January. It is a celebration of giving and receiving gifts as we celebrate in the UK at Christmas and with Santa Claus. One of the three Kings [or Magi] brought the gift of gold to the new born Jesus.

Wikipedia tells us that: A total of 186,700 tonnes of gold exists above ground, as of 2015.[7] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold As of 2017, the world's largest gold producer by far was China with 440 tonnes per year.[9]

Gold has been venerated and worshipped as people died mining it and starved while temples were lavishly furnished.

The Scottish Bard, Rabbie (Robert) Burns wrote ‘Why did God make the gem so small, and why so huge the granite. Because he meant mankind should set the higher value on it.’

Today I am questioning our value of ‘things’ more than feelings. When we are able to let go of the hold that physical things can produce in us, then we can truly live in freedom. I am not saying that we should live without, but realise the value of ‘being’ over things. We can still celebrate our golden years and achievements but without the egoic pride that does not serve. Already there is a shift where some in the western world give to charity rather than accept gifts not needed when celebrating e.g. birthdays.

In numerology number 50 is an: Expression of personal freedom, for 50, is the pursuit of whatever may be of interest, at the moment it becomes of interest, without resistance from its inner self or from others. . . The essence of the number 50 almost always focuses on the positive side of things rather than the negative. https://affinitynumerology.com/number-meanings/number-50-meaning.php Sounds good to me!

The number 50 derives its meaning from its relationship to the coming of God's Holy Spirit. Fifty can be found at least 154 times in the Bible. https://www.biblestudy.org/bibleref/meaning-of-numbers-in-bible/50.html After Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene on Sunday morning, April 9 in 30 A.D., he ascended to the Father in heaven (John 20:17). His ascension, as a type of firstfruit from the dead (Revelation 1:5), occurred on the day God told the Israelites they were to wave a sheaf composed of the firstfruits of their harvest (Leviticus 23:9 - 11). It is on this day that the count of 50 days to the Feast of Pentecost begins.

Wikipedia in the link above also tells us that: Gold is a chemical element with the symbol Au (from Latin: aurum) and atomic number 79, making it one of the highest atomic number elements that occur naturally. In its purest form, it is a bright, slightly reddish yellow, dense, soft, malleable, and ductile metal. Chemically, gold is a transition metal and a group 11 element.

https://affinitynumerology.com/number-meanings/number-79-meaning.php The numerology number 79 is a number of introspection and intuition. It promotes the welfare of humanity.

https://affinitynumerology.com/number-meanings/number-11-meaning.php For the energy of the number 11 to resonate as itself, there must be relationships. Otherwise, it's lonely and unable to resonate as the essence it is. 11 needs to be out front, but it also needs teamwork and cooperation. It must have interaction to exist.

I like this explanation and our use of gold wedding bands.

From the American Gold Rush and even back to the mythology of King Midas, as with many things in life, we can embrace the beauty of the ‘thing’ however, we have to learn not to let it control or rule us. We need to learn to be strong in our own energy and freedom allowing us to evolve into the purest form of who we truly are.
