Greatness – Ordinariness – Dancing

Updated: Feb 14, 2019

Regardless of the name of your ‘god’ or deity, we, the human populace, are gifted with the power of creation. As humans with free will we can chose our greatness, our ordinariness or even dance between the two. But, where are we coming from within ourselves - do we work from the head (ego) or heart (love)? Someone associated the letters of ego with ‘edging god out’ and indeed ego is the driving force behind all of the world’s unrest and *discord. What discord do you have in your life right now? Where do you feel it? Discord cannot be heartfelt for ‘love is all’ and the home of love for us is in our hearts.

We have learned that competition is a good thing, but is it? Does it not breed discontent in everyone who is not a winner? As a winner, how does it feel to know the unhappiness your winning causes others while you gloat in the glory of the ego mind/one-upmanship? Is this not the same energy that creates wars and discord among humans in all walks of life? Could we learn to work together from a heartfelt place instead of the ego mind? It doesn’t have to be a dog-eat-dog world. There can still be greatness in achieving things as a ‘community’, in celebrating with each other and in new creations.

It is time to learn to love the uniqueness of our individuality along with the uniqueness of each individual here on earth which I liken to being a blade of grass in a field of grass – without each and every one of us, there would be no field! So let us embrace the value of others and learn to work together to create greatness for the benefit of mankind (the field).

People in the western world are said to be, in monetary value, in the top 8% of the world’s population! But how can you accept that statement when you walk past homeless people begging on the streets of that said western world! Surveys can be manipulated to produce the answers they want by the way the questions are posed and hide the unique details that are the bigger picture; not the focused details of the ‘picture’ presented.

Think of you, think of your lifestyle and how other people in the world live. If you have been able to engage in world travel, either in person or through the tv or internet, how does it feel to see people and animals labouring to produce the food that is served up to us in that fancy new restaurant that we attain to go to? I am using this reference symbolically when I could just as easily have used the clothes we wear or the gadgets that we ‘need’. What does you/me/us truly ‘need’ to live a caring and supportive, heartfelt life? Maybe we could start by harnessing our egos, removing the competition and learning to care about our fellow human beings? There is no them and us – there is just us, **spiritual beings having a human existence!

Let us learn to fill our lives with joy, love and peace with the ability to expand our experiences beyond our egos and a heartfelt desire for the best life for all the blades of grass on this planet – not just us. It doesn’t start with governments or world leaders, it starts with each and every one of us to work on ourselves and be the best that we can be in this world without causing hurt to anyone or anything else.

*discord – no cord – no connection! ** Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
